Privacy and location

How location works, what others see, and how you stay in control.

Mano does not broadcast your live GPS to everyone. Sharing is intentional: posts, check ins, and last seen on the map follow the choices you make in the app and on your device.

Location on the map

  • The app may use your location to center the map and suggest nearby places.
  • Friends see last seen style presence only if you enable the relevant sharing options.
  • Exact coordinates are not exposed as a public live tracker.

Posts and profiles

Content you attach to a place appears when you publish it. Review audience or visibility controls on the compose screen when they are available for that post type.

Device permissions

You can turn off location for Mano in iOS Settings at any time. Some features work with less precision if location is off, but you can still browse the map manually.

Tip

If something feels wrong, contact support from Help in the app. Include what you expected versus what you saw so the team can help quickly.
